The Terrordome - 5.8.10

w/ Paramedic!, Spraynard, and Secret Lakes

this show was part deux of our Paramedic! weekend 7" release thingy. i was super stoked to be playing the terrordome again seeing as it's the best thing in Philly... at least for the next 2 months... :(

Spraynard all had work till 4 before the show, so we were a little out of it when we arrived in philly. Dos went home to take a nap while Mark and I found ourselves at Jordan's house in west philly. we spent most of the time eating Lucky's sesame tofu chicken while Paramedic! (and Jordan and JOEEE) showed us around their neighborhood. i must say, while i still could never live in the city, if i was forced to, it would be right in that neighborhood. so many good people in one area. we realized it was a little past 7 o clock so we high-tailed it to the show.

the first band to play was Secret Lakes. this was the second show we've played with Secret Lakes, and while i was a little unsure of what to think the first time, this time around they totally baited me. they sound a lot like the majority of Lookout! Records bands, so they did a good job of bringing me back to my 9th grade days. i wish i knew the titles to their songs, because the second to last song they played was amazing. if they somehow come across it, please record that song immediately and telepathically send it to me.

next was Spraynard. i love playing in Philly because we've made so many friends simply through playing shows there, so we usually end up walking away with meeting even more. it was great to see Lavis Blake and all those fools. let me see if i can remember our set this time around:

Do You Guys Even Like U2?
Stickin' Together is What Good Waffles Do
Different Cat, Same Results
Airports and Prank Phone Calls
I'm Going to Look One More Time for That Baby Deer
Damn, Julie. Damn.

finally was Paramedic!. while their set was just as good as the night before (if not better), the fight with Jordan really escalated that night. in the middle of them playing some of the best songs in the world, Jordan found himself on a microphone, trying to apologize for being a big ol' baby the night before. while Charlie seemed reluctant to accept his apology, he folded and shook Jordan's hand. instead of attempting to explain what happened next, i'll post the video i took during the whole escapade...

after a few bandages were passed around, a good 20 people met up at Jordan's house for a "big screen youtube party" where we watched babies getting kicked in the head and short clips from Billy Madison (even though we had the movie in the house). while there we also consumed a GIANT pizza from Ed's (some sort of new vegan cheese that has been taking over the faux food community). please use the normal sized TV remote next to the box in the picture as a reference. the Philly kids have a really good habit of letting strangers into their homes with ease, which is much admired by myself and my friends. thanks to everyone who hung out!

lehigh valley up next!

stay sweaty!
